Xel-ha Maravilla de Mexico

Xel ha, pronounced Shell ha is said to be carved into the world by the Mayan Gods of old. This fantastic natural aquarium is made up of fresh river water and salty ocean water. The two mix and it looks like swirling oil.

I'm not sure why, but I got a real kick out of the little walking paths. I thought it was unique and fun how they just left all the little tree's growing right in the middle of the trails.

Here is a view of the bay where we snorkeled. We saw lots of colorful fishes, and some not so colorful ones that blended in with the sand and reef.
Floating down the jungle covered rivers was by far one of my most favorite activities here. The jungle was so relaxing. Soothing bird sounds and the cool water on your feet made for the perfect day.
