This underground river system was discovered only about 5 years ago in Mexico. Locals were hunting the land when they stumbled across some crust that had given away. Just recently have they allowed limited tours through this nature reserve. There are literally hundreds of sparkling white stalactites & stalagmites throughout the rivers. As the ground water continues to seep into the rivers, the formations continue to grow and change.
The fresh water ways were crystal clear.
It was completely dark once we entered the caverns, the only light was from our head lamps and a couple of flash lights.
